Description
This is a very rare Pre Ernie Ball Sabre Bass that not only has an ebony fretless neck this has a factory satin finish which was offered by Music Man at this time. This bass is gorgeous and is all original and plays and sounds fantastic. This also has a very nice Vintage Tolex hardshell case with a blue lining that goes perfectly with this bass. The case is identical to an original case except for the blue lining. There is a part of me that wonders if this was also a special order for this bass because it goes so well with this particular bass.
This has a natural finish on the body with a gloss finish on the maple neck. The fretless board is ebony. The bass has all original electronics including 2 Sabre Humbuckers and all original Sabre electronics. The electronics have a volume, bass and treble knob with 3 switches.
This bass is gorgeous and has a super clean Vintage Tolex Hardshell Case.
Condition
This bass is in extraordinary condition. There is a lot of checking in the neck and body finish but otherwise the finish is basically perfect. The checking adds some nice vibe and mojo and a vintage effect. The fretboard is near perfect. All of the chrome is glowing as well.
The electronics are all working and are clean. This bass has absolutely no problems whatsoever. The case is in really good shape inside and out. If you want an all original Fretless Pre Ernie Ball Sabre Bass that is in really good shape this is it. This is set up and ready to go!!
