Description

This is the King of the Vintage Music Man Stingray Basses.  This is an all original 1976 Music Man Stingray Bass known as a Radio Knob.  Ernie Ball has recently released a limited edition copy of this bass to commemorate this wonderful contribution to the world of Music Man Basses.  The Radio Knob delivers a tone that only a 1976 Stingray can produce and this is a wonderful example of one of these basses.

This also happens to be in phenomenal condition.  This bass is super clean all over and is a collector’s dream come true.

This is a Sunburst Bass with a white pickguard.  The neck is a maple neck with maple fretboard.  All of the hardware is chrome and also is beautiful.  Of course the knobs are original Radio Knobs.

This has the original John Holmes Long Pole Pickups along with the original First Generation Preamp.  The bass is all original and also has what I call a Thunder Pocket.  This is a routed area under the pickups which the poles extend into grooves.  This is a major element of the tone Any Long Pole Stingray can produce.  This bass thumps and has a Full Vintage Tone that bass players drool over.

The Bass weighs 10 pounds and 14 ounces.

This also includes a Clean Original hardshell case.

Condition

This Bass is outrageously clean.  This is absolutely gorgeous and essentially is a new bass.  Everything about this bass is glowing and this is one of the finest radio knob stingray basses that I have seen.

The finish has one defect right by the neck on the front of the body.  That is pictured.  Other then that the finish is near mint.  The neck finish is also nearly perfect and the frets show essentially zero wear.  All of te hardware is glowing.  This even has the original mutes.  Everything about this is super clean except for the one spot in the finish by the neck.  The original case is also gorgeous.

If you want the true low end tone and funky highs of a Music Man try this bass.  This is truly a funk machine particularly because it is light weight.  Set up by the Stingray Man.
